Key Activities

Project Management – Surveying – Mould Eradication – Conservation Planning

We were appointed to carry out a damp survey at the Opera House to investigate the underlying causes of persistent damp issues. Our assessment identified that the affected wall periodically dropped below the dew point, and additional water ingress from surrounding areas had reduced the wall’s thermal efficiency.

To address this, we developed a tailored conservation strategy aimed at both resolving the current damp and preventing its recurrence. The initial treatment involved applying a mould eradication spray to all affected surfaces, providing long-term protection. This was followed by the application of a thermal dry anti-condensation paint to significantly reduce the likelihood of future mould growth.

We also proposed a monitoring regime to track conditions while the client considers funding options for a more permanent solution to address the root cause. All works were completed efficiently within two days.

“We were impressed with the professionalism and expertise shown throughout the damp investigation at the Opera House. The team quickly identified the root causes of the issue and provided a clear, conservation-led strategy that was both practical and effective. Their attention to detail, especially in applying preventative treatments and ensuring minimal disruption, was greatly appreciated. The work was completed swiftly and to a high standard, and their ongoing monitoring proposal demonstrates a genuine commitment to long-term solutions. We wouldn’t hesitate to work with them again.”
