As part of this design and build project, we replaced two existing staircases within occupied, multi-occupancy buildings. In collaboration with our structural engineer, we designed and installed new tread, riser and landing sections using fire-rated materials, ensuring full compliance with fire safety regulations.

The original sections were carefully dismantled and sustainably disposed of, with materials segregated into designated skips in line with our project waste management plan.

Given the buildings remained occupied throughout the works, we securely enclosed the working areas with hoarding and maintained access via alternative staircases. To ensure continuous fire escape routes, the staircase replacements were meticulously phased and sequentially planned.
